Edwardian Period Circa 1901-1920

The Edwardian period was named after King Edward of Britain. The jewelry in this period represented light, soft, graceful, elegant and lacy designs. This era is best known for the filigree techniques giving the jewelry pieces that lacy look. The women in this period liked to finish off their dresses made of lace and silk and hats topped with feathers with a piece of jewelry.

Tassels, garlands of flowers, wreaths and bows were all motifs of the Edwardian period. During this period jewelers used diamonds, pearls, and platinum. This era of jewelry was the epitome of sophistication and class.
